Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior Business Analyst with experience in the Cards and Payments domain to join our growing practice at Expleo. The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of card payment processes, including transaction lifecycle, authorisation, clearing, and settlement. They must also hold core delivery and consulting skills.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and map the flow of funds within payment systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Utilise accounting principles to support financial reconciliation and reporting.
  • Conduct detailed payments analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Conduct thorough system and business analysis to identify requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
  • Leverage experience with payment methods (Pay by Link, Digital Wallets, and Open Banking) to enhance product offerings.
  • Understand and manage set up of interfaces with Bacs for seamless payment processing Bacs payments, including Direct Debit and Direct Credit transactions.
  • Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Mentor and share knowledge with clients and other team members to foster a collaborative and learning-focused culture.
  • Exhibit strong drive and initiative to achieve business goals and deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • BCS Business Analysis International Diploma (or equivalent)

Essential skills

  • Deep understanding of card payment processes, including transaction lifecycle, authorisation, clearing, and settlement.
  • Understanding of setting up and managing interfaces with Bacs for seamless payment processing.
  • Clear analytical thinking, strong stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of delivering change using technology and soft skills. 
  • Problem investigation and operational excellence
  • Advanced MS Excel ability and working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Visio (or similar process modelling tool) and MS Word
  • Self-management, the ability to plan and organise your work to align with the client’s plan or milestone dates, by setting quantified goals and working to defined standards
  • Eliciting and managing requirements
  • Process modelling
  • High level accounting and data modelling
  • Agile and waterfall SDLC frameworks, roles, responsibilities and ceremonies
  • Commercial and regulatory awareness

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Cards and Payments projects & Platform Implementations
  • Accounting experience an advantage
  • IT consulting experience an advantage

  • To be flexible to travel to, and work at, client sites located in northern Buckinghamshire
