We are seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team within our Marine Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bids, overseeing and managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Progress reporting into Client and familiarity with Stakeholder Management will also be required.  The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, expertise in project planning, customer and stakeholder management.

This role will be based in our Bristol office with occasional travel to our Clients’ sites as required. As part of our commitment to flexible working, employees can combine office work with remote working.

Responsibilities

  • As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering projects on time, maintaining quality standards, and meeting budget goals.
  • Effectively manage projects to meet deadlines, budget constraints, and technical performance expectations.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to the Programme Delivery Lead. Discuss project timelines, technical aspects, and budget updates during project review meetings.
  • This role includes some Stakeholder Management responsibilities working in partnership with the Key Account Manager. This includes building strong relationships and preparing regular progress reports to update Client on project progress, milestones, and Risks. Some travel to Client site and Expleo sites for formal Client reporting is required
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams is required as is having awareness of new business development opportunities.
  • Liaison with project Technical Lead Engineer(s) to ensure that adequate levels of staffing of the appropriate disciplines are allocated to the project to ensure specified timescale and quality standards are achieved.
  • Provide assistance in preparing quotations, with a specific focus on project management aspects.
  • Effective management of change; identification of potential scope changes & associated contract variations at an early stage and, where agreed with the respective Manager, to issue variation notices to the customer.
  • Liaison with sub-contractors/vendors where appropriate.
  • Assess and document project risks, and monitor the implementation of mitigation actions where defined.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field with a focus on project management.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or APM certification is preferred.

Essential skills

  • Project Managers should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis.
  • An understanding of the key domains that Expleo operates in, and an appreciation of the unique problems that these domains bring would also be beneficial.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Project Manager, in an Engineering project scenario preferable.
  • Performance management of people and teams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, collaborative tools and Agile toolsets
  • Knowledge/use of MS Project
