Overview

We are looking for talented Project Managers, ideally with consultancy experience, to join us at Expleo. This client-facing role will lead projects collaborating with our clients across a wide range of IT deliveries.

 

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders, as well as internal and external teams. The programme follows a Waterfall process, working with partners who may use Agile methodologies, so solid experience with both methodologies is desirable.

You will be expected to be on-site with clients in Buckinghamshire 12 days per week or as the programme requires.

 

You will be working on a high-profile project with other Project Managers, where your Project and theirs are inter dependent from a timeline and delivery perspective, and so open communication lines and an eye for detail is critical for success.

Expleo works across multiple clients and industries, so there is an expectation that you will contribute to the continued growth of the Practice as time allows.

Responsibilities

  • Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives.
  • RAID Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies.
  • Finance Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
  • Reporting: Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and issues.
  • Quality Management: Ensure all deliverables meet the required quality standards

Qualifications

  • Desirable Certifications: MAPM, Scrum Master, PMP, Prince2

Essential skills

  • Strong understanding of the systems development lifecycle.
  • The ability to understand and lead the construction of system & data integrations
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • Ability to think logically and use own initiative as well as mine in-house and supplier IP to build on your knowledge base with regards to the industry and the project/programme.
  • Able to apply project management disciplines such as stakeholder identification and management, supplier management, risk and issue logs, decision logs
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall methodologies
  • Strong understanding of Agile (Kanban & Scrum)
  • Experience of working with Programme and Project managers in large deployments
  • People management skills – the ability to lead and focus teams in complex projects
  • Strong self-management – continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set
  • Desire to continue to build IT domain knowledge– tools, applications, platforms
  • Desire to embrace and work within new industries
  • An analytical mindset to ensure details are not overlooked and that the critical path is managed throughout the project
  • Strong communication skills in English are essential for effectively interacting with clients
  • Microsoft Project

Experience

  • Experience in data migration from legacy systems to new, including culling of non-essential data and consideration of parallel runs (test environment/production) and multi-wave implementation to production.
  • Experience of leading large-scale projects with multiple sub-projects and inter-dependencies.
  • Supplier Management – managing external suppliers to ensure that the scope of work is delivered within time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Change Management in terms of processes and procedures, organisational change, training and documentation.
  • Comfortable working within a hybrid Waterfall/Agile framework

What do I need before I apply

  • The expectation is that you will be able to work on client site in Buckinghamshire 1-2 days per week or as the programme requires.
  • Fluency in English is required to effectively communicate with clients.
