Overview

Expleo has an opportunity for an experienced aerospace Electrical Sytems Installation Engineer to support our customer (Airbus) working on a hybrid basis (remote and onsite at customer premises). The role will involve being responsible for formulating technical solutions for a range of tasks ensuring that design standards and customer requirements are met within your design.

Responsibilities

  • Produce harness routing models using Catia.
  • Design of 3D models in support of the ESI installation (Brackets etc)
  • Support co-ordination meetings between project stakeholders and take ownership of specific follow-up actions as required.
  • Support project meetings as required to report progress.
  • Conceptual design activities, together with basic requirements management, generation of Design Principles, Electromechanical Interfaces establishment etc
  • Provide Engineering support to stakeholders to ensure the data is comprehensive and complete.
  • Work to company and departmental procedures and maintain adherence to company standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements.
  • Ability to work as a team in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ensure the data continuity for electrics design from functional electric design through harness pre-definition and to the 3D detail design.

Essential skills

  • Catia V5 with Electrical Work Bench (EWB) experience
  • Catia V6/3DExperience knowledge is desirable (training provided)
  • Working knowledge of Airbus operations & procedures.
  • Proven knowledge of the installation of aerospace electrical systems (i.e. Diagrams, Harnesses, Electrical Boxes, Electromechanical Installations etc.)
  • Generation & handling of electrical harness Installation data and Drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of general 3D modelling i.e. Simple bend bracket or machine brackets designs.
  • Local to Airbus, Bristol or able to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
  • Basic understanding of Configuration Management, such as Aircraft build process.
  • A working knowledge of electronic and electrical components including connectors, retention devices and sub-components and mechanical components and their applications.

Experience

  • Knowledge of Airbus design electrical rules and routings i.e TDD92/SIDP92 and AIPS.
  • Catia V6/3DExperience knowledge is desirable (training available)
  • Experience in handling PDM/VPM tools and link to CAD models with design in a context
    environment.
  • Knowledge on the Electrical End to End process for the Aerospace domain is desirable.
  • Understanding Harness pre-definition and experience on Harness Topology or Morphology
    is desirable
