This Systems Engineering vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.

 

Join Expleo’s Aerospace Business Unit as an Engineering Delivery Manager, where you will spearhead operational activities for a key defence and aerospace customer. This role involves supporting multi-disciplinary customer engineering projects, ensuring customer satisfaction, and acting as the primary interface between internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.

 

The job holder will be engaged in understanding and supporting our customer with a wide variety of Systems Engineering activities covering the entire engineering lifecycle, you will be a key member of a team providing essential back office direction. Your knowledge across a wide variety of Engineering activities will be deployed to ensure Expleo are able to provide high-quality and pivotal support to our customer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Technical Delivery
    • Manage the equipment work package (including project plan and budget)
    • Stakeholder management for the equipment
    • Take accountability for the requirements for the equipment(s) on behalf of the project (with appropriate input from SMEs and Systems team)
    • Take accountability for the equipment hardware (development, deliveries, concessions, faults. etc.)
    • Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority
    • Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s)
    • Technically manage internal & external design authorities/suppliers for delivery of the equipment(s) work packages to time, cost, quality and performance requirements with regular engagement including supplier visits as required
    • Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project
    • Own the equipment testing needs/compliance (including reviewing qualification verification evidence)
    • Plan design reviews and process gate reviews for equipment
    • Manage risks/opportunities and their mitigation
  • Leadership & Delivery
    • Ensure customer satisfaction
    • Oversee project delivery performance, ensuring on-time and on-quality delivery.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project management plans.

Qualifications

  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Project Management, or Business/Operational Management.
  • Professional certification (APM, PMI, IPMA, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance (BPSS acceptable to start).

Essential skills

  • Required Skillset:
  • Test Design Capabilities
  • Supplier/Project Management Capabilities
  • Requirements Management
  • Proven experience in delivering engineering programmes in defence, aerospace, or similar sectors.
  • Broad technical knowledge across Engineering capabilities.
  • Experience with MBSE/MBE tools and techniques is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Desired skills

  • Understanding of IR35 and management of PSCs.

Experience

  • The ideal candidate will come from a Systems Engineering / Testing background with experience in requirements management , verification & validation.
