Overview

We are looking for an experienced automation architect to work with an automotive OEM supporting transition of automation equipment between facilities. The role will cover all stages of the process from study through to realisation in February 2027.

Responsibilities

During the study phase

  • Objective: To obtain a finalised technical file that considers the needs and specifications requested
    • Inventory of the existing situation.
    • Definition of the deliverables to follow according to the technical specifications.
    • Validation report of supplier studies (Risk analysis, Sistema, Detailed functional analyses, Organic analyses, Electrical diagrams, Equipment files, Choice and implementation of components, Model), Simulation model of operating part, Test programs equipment or platform, Spare parts list, Schedule).
    • Checking of the file with supplier self-checking.
    • Checking of supplier security clearances/training according to business.

During the provisional phase - realisation at the supplier's site

  • Objective: Ensure that the manufacturing and tests that may be realised at the Supplier as well as the associated documentation comply with the requirements and the schedule.
    • Follow-up on the lifting of non-conformities (reserves) from the previous phase.
    • Checking the content and monitoring of the schedule, including the duration of the on-site tests.
    • Follow-up of the conformity of the electrical realisation proving the quality and conformity of the manufacturing and realisation of the various cabinets and boxes and audit of the supplier's auto-controls
    • Verification of the safety part: electrical realisation, wiring, programming and parameter setting of the PLCdS safety. Deliverables of safety filled in.
    • Checking of AF, AO and operator manual deliverables and realisation audit following supplier self-checking.
    • Validation of test execution procedures according to associated standards and tests executed and documented.
    • Validation of platform tests (cabinet and simulation) or machine tests realised at the supplier.
    • Validation of the risk analysis and the operator's manual

During the assembly phase - on-site implementation

  • Objective: Ensure that the assembly of the installation on site and the associated documentation comply with the requirements and the schedule.
    • Follow-up on the lifting of non-conformities (reserves) from the previous phase.
    • Ensure the supplier's prevention plans.
    • Coordination and follow-up of the electrical part of the assembly of the equipment on the site.
    • Site and electrical audits with supplier self-checking.
    • Checking of the progress of on-site test procedures
    • Checking the correct implementation of the automation components
    • Checking the quality and conformity of the PLC programming.
    • Validation of the content of the training of future operators and maintainers
    • Control of the deliverables and presence of the documentation (cabinet diagrams and supply of specific parameters)

During the tests phase - Provisional Acceptance

  • Objective: To obtain an installation complying with the requirements of the technical specifications in order to start production in optimal conditions.
    • Follow-up on the lifting of non-conformities (reserves) from the previous phase.
    • Validation of the power-up with the supplier.
    • Validation of the correct operation of the electrical safety devices.
    • Validation of the elementary and overall batch and workshop tests (unloaded and loaded, performance control).
    • Organize and participate in the statutory audit (initial visit of the certified organization)
    • Automation feedback sheets, spare parts consistency check.
    • Validation of the training process of the plant staff.
    • Validation of the quality of the operating instructions and operator manuals

During the Ramping-up phase – Definitive Acceptance (RD)

  • Objective: To bring the installation to the expected performances and with a definitive documentation in order to be able to deliver the installation to the Beneficiary Plant.
  • Validation of the reliability of the equipment with the associated corrective actions.
  • Follow-up on the lifting of non-conformities (reserves) from the previous phase.
  • Validation of non-conformities regarding the initial electrical inspection report.
  • Validation of the complete final file
  • Validation of the conformity of the back-up support of the electrical diagrams and of the different programs.

Through all stages

  • Responsibility for technical progress:
    • Participate to the technical analyses in order to ensure the result of the process in coherence with the standard and the Engineering Process rules, with the lowest cost.
    • Negotiate with "customer and supplier" representatives, in order to optimise and simplify the product-process mix.
  • Responsibility for his business management within his own perimeter:
    • Managing the activity of suppliers and subcontractors, in order to guarantee the global objectives requested (Quality, Costs, Deadlines, Performance).
  • Responsibility for the capitalisation of know-how:
    • Introduce and use the tools provided by the Engineering Process

 

Essential skills

  • Automation Management
    Experince with exOV automation standard
  • Working within a bodyshop environment

Experience

  • Experience in an controls and automation environment
  • Previous experience working within an Automotive OEM is desired
  • Experience of Rockwell Architecture
