Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to provide data analysis support to the manufacturing function of our client’s facility which delivers cutting edge defence products.

 

The successful candidate is expected to be conversant with the latest tooling, techniques, technology & automation deployed in the assembly and test of advanced electronics & Electromechanical sub-assemblies & products.  The role is expected to be Hybrid with attendance at the client site in Bolton.  The successful candidate should ideally have experience in products for high reliability applications.

 

We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority) defence, aerospace, military, marine or rail experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex datasets across various stages of the electronics production lifecycle
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes, testing outcomes, and supply chain data
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance production efficiency, minimize waste, and improve product reliability
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to translate data insights into practical improvements
  • Design and build intuitive dashboards and reports to effectively communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Continuously seek ways to improve data collection methods, analytical tools, and overall data management practices within a low-volume production setting
  • Support the development and execution of performance measurement frameworks across different production areas
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members within the data analysis function

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.  A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu

Essential skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences across all levels of the organisation
  • A detail-oriented and methodical approach to work, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Solid understanding of electronics assembly processes, including soldering, circuit board assembly, testing, and packaging
  • Familiarity with materials used in electronics and their impact on manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in analysing production data to identify patterns, troubleshoot issues, and support informed decision-making
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve shared project objectives
  • Competence in interpreting and producing technical documentation, such as schematic diagrams, engineering reports, and test reports
  • Capacity to identify, evaluate, and implement practical and innovative solutions to complex manufacturing challenges

Desired skills

  • Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing expertise required
  • Knowledge of methodologies like Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and environmental standards relevant to the electronics industry
