Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) to join our dynamic, multi-national, multi-disciplinary team on an innovative aerospace program. This role will focus on the development and delivery of design data for EWIS physical design. The position involves the creation and refinement of harness 3D models, installation design, bracket predesign/detailing, and preparation for design-for-manufacture (DFM) activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver EWIS physical design data.
  • Create and update 3D electrified harness models, including routing and diameter adaptation.
  • Perform harness installation predesign, proposing interfaces with the aircraft structure.
  • Conduct bracket predesign and detailed design (B- and C-brackets).
  • Import and manage wire lists from Zuken, ensuring accurate integration.
  • Extract wire lengths and perform harness treatment, including segregation and connectivity checks.
  • Define, agree, and freeze structural installation points (IPs) in collaboration with structure design teams.
  • Complete detailed harness and installation designs, performing quality reviews and checks.
  • Support design reviews, including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
  • Prepare and deliver Design for Manufacture (DFM) data for harnesses, brackets, and installation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-national, multi-disciplinary aerospace environment

Qualifications

  • The candidate is required to hold an HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification / experience in relatable discipline subject.
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience

Essential skills

  • Proficiency with Catia V5

  • Strong understanding of harness installation, routing, and bracket design principles.

  • Knowledge of aerospace design standards, segregation codes, and network connectivity requirements.

  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) processes for harnesses and brackets.

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively within multi-national, multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex technical data.

Experience

  • Proven experience in Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) design and integration.
  • Experience with wire list management, routing updates, and length extraction from 3D models.
  • Experience preparing and supporting design reviews (PDR/CDR).
