Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Enginner to work with our client, in Cheadle. In this role the successful candidate will play a key role in the full lifecycle development of complex underwater systems — from concept design through to integration, verification, and in-service support. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, contributing to the electrical and functional design of mission-critical subsystems. Define, analyse, and manage electrical and functional requirements for underwater systems and subsystems.
Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, circuit layouts, and wiring diagrams.
Integrate electrical subsystems into larger sonar and mission system architectures.
Participate in design reviews, FMEA/FMECA processes, and configuration control activities.
Produce high-quality technical documentation (requirements, ICDs, design reports, test procedures).
Support build, integration, and verification in both laboratory and platform environments.
Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and defence standards (Def Stan, MIL-STD, EMC/EMI, safety).
Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical, and Software teams to ensure cohesive, end-to-end functionality.
Contribute to system trials, acceptance testing, and technical liaison with customers and suppliers.
