Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations.  We are seeking EGSE Support Engineers to support deployment of and existing deployed EGSE in satellite assembly clean rooms at our client site in Stevenage. The successful candidates would ideally have a space industry related test experience gained in an engineering or production environment.  The role demands 5 days a week on the client’s site).  Typical activities expected involve commissioning, validation of performance in the production environment, training of operators, break/fix services and all the paperwork that underpins these services.

 

We are looking for energetic and driven engineers with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority) military, aerospace, marine or rail experience.

Responsibilities

  • Production of relevant EGSE documentation (e.g. Validation Procedures, Supporting NC reviews)
  • Support for EGSE system upgrades, This may include:
    • Procurement,
    • Managing and prioritizing the manufacturing processes
    • Validation and certification for use in the AIT facility
  • 1st level support for the EGSE in the AIT facility, which may include:
    • Commissioning of hardware
    • Composition of AIT procedures
    • Debug/fault finding
    • Training

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering with ideally electrical background
  • Where applicable suitable experience in addition to a lower qualification would be acceptable

Essential skills

  • Knowledge of EGSE/ATE (Power, Data Handling and/or RF)
  • Some scripting skills (Test sequence coding in TCL, knowledge of Central Checkout System CCS5 or similar)
  • Procedure writing.
  • Ability to use a range of laboratory test equipment such as Power Supplies, DMMs, Oscilloscopes etc.

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of coding language would be an asset
  • Knowledge of S/C database management would be an asset
  • Satellite Reference Database (SRDB) / MIB format will be a plus
  • Requirements Management (RATIONAL DOORS knowledge would be considered an asset)

Experience

  • Experience in Environmental test/launch campaign would be an asset
  • Experience in satellite avionics and serial data protocols (e.g. RS4xx, MIL 1553, Spacewire)
  • Procedure and test report writing
  • Non-conformance reporting
