A Knowledge Management Strategist is required for a 6-month engagement to support the delivery of a comprehensive Knowledge Management (KM) strategy within a major organisational transformation programme. This role blends KM expertise with project-management-style coordination, supporting the development, alignment, and adoption of KM practices, processes, and cultural behaviours across the programme and the wider organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping how knowledge is captured, shared, and sustained, ensuring that project teams, new starters, and functional stakeholders have efficient access to critical information and tools.
Deliver a tailored Knowledge Management strategy for the transformation programme, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s broader KM frameworks, charters, and governance principles.
Review and integrate existing KM tools, repositories, and materials to create a unified and coherent KM approach.
Develop clear decision trees and process maps to guide users on what knowledge to store, how to classify it, and where it should reside.
Build an engagement plan to ensure functional teams understand and adopt the KM strategy within their own processes and ways of working.
Drive a positive, embedded KM culture within the programme, promoting knowledge sharing and behavioural change that encourages organisation-wide adoption.
Integrate KM into the New Starter Process, ensuring newcomers have a structured introduction to KM expectations, practices, and key resources.
Contribute to measurable improvements in onboarding efficiency and time-to-proficiency for project personnel.
Create a Knowledge Risk Management Plan, working collaboratively with both KM and risk management stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement of KM processes, ensuring long-term sustainability and alignment with transformation objectives.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering Knowledge Management strategies.
Experience creating KM processes, workflows, decision trees, and structured repositories.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence adoption and behavioural change.
Ability to identify and streamline knowledge flows, repositories, and governance structures.
Understanding of onboarding processes and how KM enhances new starter effectiveness.
Competence in risk assessment related to KM (knowledge loss, knowledge continuity, etc.).
Ability to work autonomously while coordinating with wider project and functional teams.
Experience supporting large transformation programmes or multi-functional change initiatives.
Familiarity with knowledge-sharing platforms, collaboration tools, and digital KM solutions.
Background in developing cultural change or behavioural adoption strategies.
Experience aligning KM processes across complex organisations or distributed teams.
Proven experience in Knowledge Management, Information Management, or organisational learning roles.
Background in programme or project environments, particularly within transformation or change initiatives.
Strong understanding of KM frameworks, methodologies, and practical implementation.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
