Responsibilities

  • Be able to conduct a variety of stress analysis on both composite and metallic structures including general strength analysis, stiffness assessments, buckling and stability strength, fastener and joint strength, standard composite strength analysis of both sandwich and thermoset composite panels, composite damage tolerance analysis of open hole strength and compression-after-impact strength.
  • Have a good understanding of structural design (e.g. Wingbox) including understanding load and stiffness requirements, design of load interfaces such as flap and moveable surfaces and wingbox to fuselage connections
  • Be able to perform finite element analysis using recognized toolsets (such as Nastran/Patran, Simcenter 3D). Candidate should be capable of creating, modifying, and post-processing results from FEM models.
