Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an Electronic Systems Integration & Verification Engineer to provide support to the team in the area of integration of firmware and verification of function.  This activity is based initially at our client’s Stevenage facility but later activities will require attendance at their Filton location.

 

We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority) defence, aerospace, military, marine or rail experience.

Responsibilities

The Electronic Systems Integration & Verification Engineer will perform but is not limited to the following types of activities centred on a redesign to resolve obsolescence of a COTs device on a PCB for a naval application.

  • Support functional testing of new Firmware at CCA level in Stevenage lab
  • Produce and maintain test plans
  • Liaising with Firmware Team to identify and help resolve issues
  • Integration testing of new CCA into subsystem testing using existing NGTS scripts
  • Producing design proving test reports
  • Support certification by writing design statements to support hardware verification
  • Support certification by assessing the applicability of existing evidence
  • Work with the Test Software department to ensure test software supports design proving and production testing
  • Updating production test documentation at unit level incorporating changes resulting from new CCA integration and liaising with Production Test department

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu

Essential skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modify the message to pitch at all levels of the organisation
  • A thorough and methodical approach to work with high quality and accuracy
  • The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • The ability to interpret and produce technical documentation, such as schematic diagrams, engineering reports, and test reports

Desired skills

  • Any knowledge of Test Software environments, shell scripting, and Linux is useful

 

Experience

  • Extensive experience in performing work of the kind described in this job description
  • Experience in system integration, firmware, software, electronics H/W and certification
