Overview

This Reliability Engineering vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation. The job holder will be engaged in a wide variety of Systems Engineering activities covering the entire engineering lifecycle.

 

Specific experience FMEA and FMECA

Responsibilities

As a reliability support engineer the role may include but is not limited to the following types of activities centred on reliability analysis whilst working alongside in support of design teams.

  • Reliability analysis (typically predictions, FMECA and Critical Items Lists).
  • Reliability based hazard analysis
  • Root cause analysis
  • development of relaibilty programmes

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification an engineering or technical subject.
  • A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu.

Essential skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modify the message to pitch at all levels of the organisation
  • A thorough and methodical approach to work with high quality and accuracy
  • The ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • The ability to interpret and produce technical documentation, such as SOR, SOW & trade studies

Desired skills

  • Part stress reliability prediction using Mil-Hdbk-217 and FIDES (new projects increasingly using FIDES). Understanding of predictions for mechanical items necessary for some equipment.
  • FMECA skills for complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Critical Item List preparation.
  • Use of Windchill
  • Use of reliability tool sets.

Experience

  • Engineering based experience, also as a relaibility engineer.
  • Defence experience would be an advantage

What do I need before I apply

  • SC Cleared
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the client site at Stevenage minimum 3 days per week
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and work on the client site at Filton as required
