Expleo UK are currently seeking Engineering Team Leads to deliver against the following technical projects (Quality, ME and Engineering) within our Clients premises in Stevenage. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivery
    • Support Projects Launches to ensure that new projects are launched seamlessly and satisfy the customer demands.
    • Support the technical delivery of (Quality, ME or Engineering) engineering projects on time and quality, providing technical governance to the engineering team.
    • These roles are to be delivered alongside current duties presently being undertaken within each specialisation onsite.
  • Customers
    • Support the Project Management and Operations Team with quotations, assessing and documenting technical risks, to ensure the projects create profit for the business.
    • Build a good working relationship with the customer base to help identify new opportunities and solve issues efficiently.
  • Governance
    • Pro-actively identify and resolve technical problems and rationally develop optimal solutions to meet specification, using appropriate tools/knowledge, escalate when appropriate.
    • Support Tech Authority in defining robust quality processes (e.g. operating processes & best practice documents).
    • Identify & manage continuous process improvement and excellence.
  • Capability
    • Responsible for developing and maintaining engineering capability within team.
    • Ensure the team follows the appropriate Expleo and customer Best Practice in QMS.
    • Carry out annual & mid-term appraisals and maintain constructive feedback throughout the year.
    • Feedback to the Head of Business any team/individual training requirements.
    • Provide guidance & mentor less experienced engineers within team.
    • Ensure new team members feel valued and are onboarded efficiently following company processes.
    • Identify high performers and recommend team members for rewards.
  • Operational
    • Support in managing resource and the scheduling of workload.
    • Support management in accurate forecasting of future work.

Qualifications

  •  Relevant qualifications dependant upon specialism being undertaken (Quality, ME or Engineering), ONC, HNC.

Essential skills

  • To provide support to your team to ensure that we deliver projects to a high technical standard, in a timely fashion.
  • Work with your teams to effectively communicate weekly technical progress of their project/output delivery status to the Business Manager as well as the customer if required.
  • Work with your team to identify, develop, test and deliver cost saving initiatives.
  • Develop team members through new skills, adding responsibility and encouraging them to contribute to team activities.
  • Develop all team members so they have an appreciation of the different functions that are involved in the delivery of the project.
  • Create a positive working relationship where people feel valued for the skills and knowledge that they bring to the team and build a team culture of rewarding behaviour.

  • Demonstrable experience of team leadership
