We are seeking a Software Fleet Coordinator to support the management, configuration, and maintenance of a development fleet of commercial vehicles. The role focuses on updating vehicle software and hardware, validating system integrity, and supporting diagnostic and test activities to ensure fleet readiness for engineering and validation programmes.
This position is well suited to a recent graduate or early-career engineer in automotive or electrical engineering who is keen to develop hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostics, embedded software, and test environments. You will work closely with software, diagnostics, and vehicle test teams to ensure fleet vehicles remain up to date, functional, and available for development and validation activities.
Update development fleet vehicles with the latest software releases and hardware configurations.
Perform vehicle reflashing, calibration, and configuration using OEM diagnostic tools.
Validate software deployments and confirm correct operation post-installation.
Identify and troubleshoot software conflicts or integration issues across vehicle systems.
Conduct root cause analysis of software or communication issues and support corrective actions.
Capture and extract logs and diagnostic data to support issue investigation and validation activities.
Support the Vehicle Test Team with fault reproduction and data collection.
Track fleet configuration status and maintain accurate records of updates, issues, and readiness.
Provide clear status reporting on fleet availability and outstanding activities.
Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and test-ready condition.
Support on-site activities at North-West locations as required.
Degree (or equivalent) in Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
Recent graduates or early-career candidates encouraged to apply.
Full UK driving licence.
Working knowledge of OEM diagnostic tools for vehicle reflashing and configuration.
Familiarity with Vector tools such as CANoe and CANape.
Basic understanding of automotive software integration and embedded systems.
Ability to perform structured fault finding and root cause analysis.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to track multiple vehicles and activities.
Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and data presentation.
Ability to work hands-on with vehicles in workshop and test environments.
Experience in vehicle diagnostics, testing, or fleet management environments.
Familiarity with CAN communication and automotive network fundamentals.
Exposure to logging and data analysis tools.
Understanding of software release or configuration management processes.
Knowledge of commercial or heavy-duty vehicle systems.
Entry-level to early-career experience in automotive testing, diagnostics, or embedded systems support.
Hands-on experience working with vehicles in lab, workshop, or fleet environments is advantageous.
Experience supporting cross-functional engineering or test teams preferred.
