As part of our continued support to a major automotive client, we are seeking a Powertrain eDrive Engineer to support the development and integration of electric drive technologies within high-performance vehicle programmes. Reporting to the Senior Powertrain Engineer, the role focuses on electric propulsion systems including electric motors, inverters, and associated powertrain components.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and integration of electrified propulsion systems while supporting the adoption of new technologies across future vehicle platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
A 2:1 degree classification or higher is desirable.
Strong understanding of electric propulsion systems and electrified powertrain technologies.
Knowledge of automotive power electronics, electric motors, and battery system interactions.
Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, and technical specification documentation.
Understanding of quality concern management processes and engineering investigation procedures.
Experience using CATIA V5 (2D and 3D) for engineering investigation and design activities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Knowledge of vehicle electrification architectures and high-voltage systems.
Experience working with electric propulsion or electrified powertrain systems in an automotive environment.
Involvement in vehicle electrification or hybrid powertrain development programmes.
Experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Experience with electric drive simulation or modelling tools.
Knowledge of vehicle electrification architectures and high-voltage systems.
Experience working within APQP or similar automotive development frameworks, including FMEA, component planning, and PPAP.
