We are looking for an Automotive Systems Engineer to drive forward the Automotive sector with Electrical and Embedded Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the projects that you lead, combining technical leadership with customer engagement, whilst helping Expleo to grow the automotive sector within Electrical and Embedded Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Understand new feature request from marketing and then develop technical concept and undertake  a feasibility study which takes into account cost, weight, timing, packaging, harnessing.
  • Work with other client stakeholders to promote and get feasibility approval
  • Develop requirements using DOORS NXG to industrialise feasibility study
  • Applicate electrically new components into existing truck applications to ensuring that the client meets its legislative targets by writing requirements into DOORS NXG.
  • Support client with any current product quality issues.
  • Experience with DORS NXG required and Rhapsody in C desirable.
  • Good communication skills
  • Position is mostly remote with occasional travel to North-west England but sometimes stays of up to a week may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree in applicable discipline.

Essential skills

  • Must have developed electrical vehicle systems through the whole process from concept to launch as systems engineer.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good understanding of vehicle electrical architecture .
  • Must be able to describe systems in a clear concise way using requirements in DOORS NXG or any other applicable tool
  • Must have good communication skills and able to chair meetings with other company stakeholders. Able to report status and tracking in an effective way.
  • Need to be able to take initiative and work in an environment (similar to a start-up) which does not have many developed processes and be comfortable of designing with a ‘clean sheet of paper’.
  • Must have a UK driving license or similar.

Experience

  • Working knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-model 
  • Experience within different automotive network standards and the associated tools. E.g., CANbus and CANalyser, or Automotive ethernet and CANape.  
  • Knowledge of the V&V automotive cycle with experience of Unit Test, SIL, MIL and HIL Testing.
