Overview

Expleo is a trusted partner for end-to-end, integrated engineering, quality services and management consulting for digital transformation.  We help businesses harness unrelenting technological change to successfully deliver innovations that will help them gain a competitive advantage and improve the everyday lives of people around the globe.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HiL Development & Test Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of advanced automotive systems within a cutting-edge Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL/XiL) environment.

This role focuses on the design, configuration, delivery, and maintenance of real-time XiL test environments ranging from single ECU setups through to complex multi-ECU architectures incorporating up to 30 ECUs in the loop. The successful candidate will contribute to the validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Advanced Automated Driving (AAD) features through both signal-based and scenario-based testing methodologies.

Working within a highly collaborative engineering environment, the engineer will support the delivery of state-of-the-art real-time simulation platforms, ensuring compliance with modern automotive testing and safety standards including ASAM OpenX and ISO 26262.

Responsibilities

HiL System Development & Integration

  • Design, configure, develop, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL/XiL) test systems for automotive electronic and software validation.
  • Support XiL environments of varying complexity, from standalone ECU validation through to large-scale multi-ECU system integration.
  • Configure and integrate dSPACE SCALEXIO-based HiL systems for closed-loop testing applications.
  • Develop and maintain simulation environments for signal-based and scenario-based validation activities.
  • Configure communication networks, bus systems, and ECU interfaces for integrated testing environments.

Test Automation & Scenario-Based Validation

  • Develop automation frameworks to support repeatable and scalable HiL testing workflows.
  • Implement and execute scenario-based validation strategies for ADAS/AAD systems.
  • Integrate driving simulation tools and synchronised scenario execution across simulation and hardware platforms.
  • Support deterministic and real-time execution of automated test cases.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and validation sequences using industry-standard toolchains.
