Quality and Configuration Assurance Engineer

This role is based full-time on-site, working directly alongside customer engineering and assurance teams throughout programme execution. 

• Maintain configuration control of programme artefacts, baselines and evidence packages.
• Support software, requirements and verification configuration management activities.
• Manage review records, approval evidence and formal checklist documentation.
• Control evidence repositories and baseline releases.
• Maintain programme action, issue and compliance logs.
• Support Bitbucket repository governance and baseline management activities.
• Ensure artefacts are correctly version-controlled and traceable.
• Support preparation of compliance matrices and certification evidence packs.
• Monitor adherence to programme QA, CM and assurance processes.
• Conduct quality checks on project artefacts prior to formal reviews and releases.
• Support configuration audits and status accounting activities.
• Prepare evidence packages for customer reviews and milestone submissions.
• Work closely with Certification, Verification and Project Delivery Leads to ensure evidence completeness and audit readiness.
• Assist with formal project handover and final evidence-pack compilation activities.

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management or a related discipline.
• Configuration Management or Quality Management training desirable.
• Experience of regulated engineering environments preferred.

• Quality Assurance and Configuration Management (QA/CM).
• Configuration control and baseline management.
• Document and evidence management.
• Audit preparation and evidence support.
• Review and action tracking.
• Version control and change management processes.
• Strong organisational and administrative discipline.
• Ability to manage large volumes of engineering artefacts accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working within controlled engineering processes.

• DO-178C software lifecycle awareness.
• Aerospace or defence quality frameworks.
• Bitbucket, Git or equivalent repository management tools.
• Polarion or ALM evidence management experience.
• Experience supporting formal engineering audits.
• Familiarity with software verification and certification deliverables.
• Knowledge of traceability and compliance evidence structures.
• Experience supporting regulated development programmes.

• Experience managing engineering evidence packs and controlled documentation.
• Experience maintaining configuration baselines within regulated environments.
• Experience supporting quality management systems and assurance processes.
• Experience participating in audit preparation and review activities.
• Experience managing engineering records, approvals and compliance evidence.
• Experience within aerospace, defence, rail, nuclear or other safety-critical industries is desirable.

• The role requires regular on-site attendance to access customer repositories, support formal reviews, manage evidence baselines and participate in assurance governance activities.
